Future Construction Skills Workshop

The workshop will bring together government, major construction contractors, technology innovators, senior business leaders, educators and future employees. We will discuss how we can best prepare not only the future sector workforce for the technologies and opportunities that lie ahead but also how we can retrain and inspire the existing workforce through lifelong learning.

The workshop aims to address the following key questions:

  • What are the hard skills that students need to prosper in Construction?
  • What are the soft skills and behaviours that the industry needs in its employees?
  • How can we, industry and educators, deliver the skills of the future to industry?

In addition to attending the workshop all delegates will also get the opportunity to tour the exhibition where various companies will be showcasing future technologies including virtual reality, remote plant operation and robotics.

Following the event we will publish a full report, highlighting the discussion learning points and how these can be taken forward to help shape the future of construction teaching.
